Artist of the Month: Raekwon “The Chef”

Bustin’ out solo after the release of the Wu-Tang Clan’s first Major Release “Enter the 36 Chambers”. Raekwon “The Chef” released his debut solo album titled “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…”, released in 1995 to much acclaim, he sparked a shift in Hip-Hops lyrics, Cuban Linx re-popularized Mafioso-flavored, street-oriented gangster rap on the east coast. The album is a major accomplishment for Raekwon and the Hip-Hop community. This album is a masterpiece and one of top favorite hip hop albubms of all time… I wrote this blog because this August, 11th, 2009. Raekwon will be releasing the much anticipated follow-up to his debut solo album, with “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… II”.

I have heard two tracks from the album them being, “Criminology II” and “New Wu”, both of which i love, but Criminology II has more of a Cuban Linx feel than “New Wu”, in my opinion. I just needed to give out a shoutout to Raekwon and his upcomming release… I’m lookin’ forward to it, it will be a nice refreshment. If your tired of lil wayne, T-pain, and all that other crap that is takin’ over hip hop, get ready to listen up again cause Raekwon is commin’ back Old School with it, and its gonna rip it up.

August 11th, 2009… Cuban Linx II! Get it!
